Fuel Injector: Service Precautions
Fuel Injector, Cleaning
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Ultrasonic Cleaning Unit (VAS 6418)
• Mounting Plate for Fuel Injection Engines (VAS 6418/1)
• Cleaning Fluid (VAS 6418/2)
Conditions:
• The ultrasonic cleaning unit must be filled to the upper edge of the holes with cleaning fluid (VAS 6418/2) - insert -.
• Follow the safety precautions and the instructions for the ultrasonic cleaning unit operating instructions.
Procedure:
- Remove the fuel injectors. Refer to => [ Fuel Injector ] Fuel Injector.
- Install the fuel injectors - 1 - all the way up the end stop in the mounting plate for fuel injection engines (VAS 6418/1) - 2 -.
- Dip the fuel injectors and the mounting plate for fuel injection engines (VAS 6418/1) into the cleaning fluid (VAS 6418/2).
- Adjust the temperature to 50 degrees using the knob - 4 -.
- Set a cleaning time of 30 minutes using the knob - 5 -.
- Turn the ultrasonic device on with the button - 3 -.
• The time begins counting down once the cleaning temperature reaches 50 degrees.
- Always replace the combustion chamber seal (Teflon seal) for each fuel injector after cleaning. Refer to=> [ Fuel Injector Teflon Seal ] Fuel Injector Teflon Seal.
- Install the fuel injectors. Refer to => [ Fuel Injector ] Fuel Injector.
