EVAP System Schematic Overview






1 Leak Detection Pump (V144)

• Installed location: In the right rear wheel housing.

• Checking, refer to the vehicle diagnostic tester.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Leak Detection Pump (V144) ] Service and Repair.

2 Air Filter Housing

• For the Leak Detection Pump (LDP).

3 Connecting Line

• From the LDP to the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister.

4 EVAP Canister

• Installed location: Under the floor panel on the right rear side.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ EVAP Canister ] Service and Repair.

5 Separating Point

• On the right, behind the fuel tank.

6 Turbocharger

7 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 (N80)

• Checking, refer to the vehicle diagnostic tester.

8 Double Check-Valve

• Not available on the MY 12 GLI.

9 Throttle Valve Control Module (J338)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Throttle Valve Control Module (J338) ] Removal and Replacement.

10 Intake Manifold

11 Separating Point

• Inside the engine compartment on the right side.

12 Vent Line

• White

• From the EVAP canister to the EVAP canister purge regulator valve 1.

• Installed position: Under the floor panel.

• Attached to the top of the fuel tank.

13 Separating Point

• At the right front of the fuel tank in the vicinity of the fuel filter.

14 Filler Tube

15 Vent Line

• From the filler tube to the EVAP canister.
