Coolant Pipes






Coolant Pipes

Make sure when replacing the expansion tank and for maintenance work that there is always a silicate cartridge in the expansion tank, refer to the Parts Catalog. The silicate cartridge must not be removed.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A)

Removing

- Remove the engine cove with air filter. Refer to => [ Engine Cover with Air Filter ] Engine Cover With Air Filter.

- Remove the turbocharger recirculation valve (N249) - 1 - with the housing and remove the hose. Refer to => [ Charge Air Cooler Overview ] Charge Air Cooler Overview.






- Loosen the clamp - 1 -.






- Remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Disconnect the connector - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 4 -, pull the pipe off the charge air cooler and remove it downward.

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Disconnect the connectors - arrows -.






- Remove the coolant hoses from the coolant pipes - arrows -.






- Remove the hose - A -, remove the retainer - B - and then remove the front coolant pipe.






- Loosen the connector - A - from the mount, remove the hose - B - and the bolts - C - and then remove the coolant pipe.






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal.
