Windshield and Headlamp Washer System Reservoir

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Before removing tank for windshield washer system and headlamp cleaning system, the filler tube of tank for windshield washer system and headlamp cleaning system must be removed.

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Remove the front bumper cover.

- Remove the filler tube from the tank for the windshield/headlamp washer system. Refer to=> [ Filler Tube For Windshield/Headlamp Washer System ] Filler Tube For Windshield/Headlamp Washer System.

• In order to prevent interchanging of the washer fluid line connections at the Windshield washer pump (V5) , the connections at the pump and the hose lines are color-coded. The hose connections must be connected to the correspondingly colored pump connections during installation.

- To release, turn the securing clips at the hose connections - 3 - and - 5 - and remove from the Windshield washer pump (V5) - 4 -.






- Catch any draining washer fluid in a suitable container.

- Release and disconnect the harness connector - 6 - of the Windshield washer fluid level sensor (G33) - 7 -.

- Unclip the wiring harness from the guides on the tank.

- Remove the windshield washer pump - 4 - from the tank and release and disconnect the harness connector - 2 -.

- Pull the Headlamp washer pump (V11) - 9 - upward out of the tank and release and disconnect the harness connector - 10 -.

- Unscrew the mounting nuts - left arrows - and the mounting bolt - right arrow - and remove the tank together with the connecting pipe of the filler tube from the vehicle.






Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Tighten the mounting nuts and bolt - arrows - to 8 Nm.

- Install the filler tube for the tank for the windshield/headlamp washer system. Refer to => [ Filler Tube For Windshield/Headlamp Washer System ] Filler Tube For Windshield/Headlamp Washer System.

- Install the front bumper cover.

- Bleed the headlamp washer system after conclusion of the assembly steps. Refer to=> [ Headlamp Washer System, Bleeding ] Procedures.
