Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Lower Section







Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Lower Section

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).

- Remove upper section of tank for windshield washer system and headlamp cleaning system. Refer to => [ Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Upper Section ] Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Upper Section.

- Unclip all the hoses from the lower section of the washer fluid reservoir.






- Disengage and disconnect the connector - 1 - on the windshield washer fluid level sensor (G33).

- Release and disconnect the connector - 2 - on the windshield washer pump (V5).

- Disengage and disconnect the connector - 4 - on the headlamp washer pump (V11).

- Disconnect the hose connector - 3 - from the windshield washer pump and use a suitable container to collect the draining washer fluid.

- Remove screw - 2 -.






- Pull the lower section of the reservoir - 1 - forward out of the retaining plate grooves.



Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

When inserting the lower section of the reservoir, make sure the guides on the inside are inserted in the grooves on the bracket.

- Tighten all threaded connections to the specification shown in => [ Windshield Washer System Overview ] Windshield Washer System Overview.

- Install upper section of tank for windshield washer system and headlamp cleaning system. Refer to => [ Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Upper Section ] Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Upper Section.

- Bleed headlamp washer system after completing assembly work. Refer to => [ Headlamp Washer System, Bleeding ] Procedures.
