Inside Seal







Inside Seal

Removing

The inside seal - 1 - becomes damaged when removed and can not be reinstalled.






- Remove the glass panel for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof, refer to => [ Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof ] Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof.

- Remove the wind deflector. Refer to => [ Wind Deflector ] Wind Deflector.

- Heat the inside seal - 1 - section by section with the hot air blower (V.A.G 1416) and remove it from the assembly carrier - 2 -.

Installation

The inside seal - 1 - becomes damaged when removed and can not be reinstalled.






- When necessary, remove any excess adhesive from the inside seal with the adhesive strip remover (VAS 6349) and adhesive remover, from the frame. Refer to Parts Catalog.

- Adhesion surfaces on the frame must be free of dust and grease.

- Align the inside seal - 1 - with the joint on the center of the rear side - arrow a -.

- Inside seal sealing lip - arrow b - must face outward.

- Remove the protective film section by section from the inside seal - 1 - and apply it to the assembly carrier - 2 - without wrinkles.

- Do not pull the outer seal - 1 - in the radii.

- Install the wind deflector. Refer to => [ Wind Deflector ] Wind Deflector.

- Install the glass panel for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof. Refer to => [ Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof ] Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof.
