Center Console

Removing

- Turn off the ignition.

- Remove the gearshift mechanism trim. Refer to => [ Gearshift Mechanism Trim ] Gearshift Mechanism Trim.

- Remove the storage compartment/ashtray unit. Refer to => [ Storage Compartment/Ashtray Unit ] Storage Compartment/Ashtray Unit.

- Remove the front A/C display control head (E87) with the Climatronic control module (J255).

- Remove the rear air vents.

- Remove the rear trim of the center console. Refer to => [ Rear Center Console Trim ] Rear Center Console Trim.

- Unscrew the 2 screws - 1 - to the left of the selector mechanism (1.5 Nm).

- Unscrew the 2 screws on the opposite side (1.5 Nm).






- Fold up the armrests, the lining mat - 1 - and the cover - 2 -.

- Unscrew the bolts - 3 - (8 Nm).






- Remove the 2 screws - 1 - (1.5 Nm).






- In vehicles with a 4-zone A/C system, remove the rear air vent adapter

- Disconnect the harness connectors and tilt up the center console in the rear area.

- Carefully remove the center console from the vehicle.

Installation

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

The bolt sequence must be observed!
