Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Hydraulic Pressure Sensor 1 and 2
• On transmissions that were built after 11.05, the hydraulic pressure sensor has been discontinued.
• Allocation, refer to the parts catalog.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)
Removing
The sensors must always be replaced together.
- If still installed, remove the oil filter. Refer to => [ Oil Filter ] Service and Repair.
- Carefully disconnect the connectors for automatic transmission hydraulic pressure sensor 1 (G193) - 1 - and theautomatic transmission hydraulic pressure sensor 2 (G194) - 2 -.
- Remove both sensors.
Installing
The sensors must always be replaced together.
- Install the 2 new sensors and tighten them to 5 Nm.
- Connect the connectors onto the sensors - 1 and 2 - until seated.
The connectors must engage.
- Install the oil filter. Refer to => [ Oil Filter ] Service and Repair.
- After installation, fill with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), check the ATF level, and top off if necessary. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.
