Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler and Line, Cleaning
If the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) is dirty or a replacement transmission is being installed, blow through the ATF cooler and lines with compressed air (Max. 10 bar).
CAUTION!
Wear protective glasses.
- Thoroughly clean area surrounding connections of the ATF line to transmission, ATF line to thermostat and ATF line to ATF cooler.
- Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the lines from the thermostat - 2 -.
- Remove the lines from the ATF cooler to the thermostat - 2 -. For this, counter hold at the thermostat.
- Remove and empty the ATF cooler. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler and Lines ] Removal and Replacement.
- Remove the bolt - arrow - and remove the lines from the transmission.
- Place a hose on a ATF line for the transmission/thermostat and secure it with a hose clamp. Place the other end of the hose into an appropriate container.
- Blow through ATF line with compressed air.
- Change the hose over to other the ATF line and repeat the sequence.
- Lubricate the O-rings with ATF.
- Instal the ATF cooler and lines. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler and Lines ] Removal and Replacement.
