Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler and Lines
Removing
Overview of Cooler
1 Radiator
2 Retaining clamps
3 Air Conditioning (A/C) condenser
4 Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) cooler
5 Power steering cooler
6 Lock carrier
- Remove the noise insulation under the engine. Refer to
- Remove the front bumper.
- Bring the lock carrier into the service position. Procedures
- Remove the bolt - 1 - and disconnect the ATF lines at the thermostat - 2 -.
- Plug the lines and the thermostat using clean plugs.
- Remove the lines from the ATF cooler to the thermostat - 2 -. For this, counter hold at the thermostat.
- Plug the lines and thermostat using clean plugs.
- Loosen the clips - arrow - for the A/C condenser - 1 - and the ATF cooler - 2 -.
- Remove the ATF cooler with lines.
- Remove the lines from the ATF cooler. For this, counter hold at the ATF cooler.
- Plug the lines and cooler using clean plugs.
- Remove the bolt for the ATF line retainer on the right of the engine.
- Remove the bolt for the ATF line retainer on the transmission.
- Remove the ATF lines from the transmission.
- Plug the ATF lines and transmission with clean plugs.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
- Lubricate the O-rings with ATF.
- Remove the plugs and install the ATF lines into the transmission until seated.
- Install the bolt - arrow -.
- Install the bolt for the ATF line retainer to the transmission.
- Install the bolt for the ATF line retainer to the right of engine.
- Remove the plugs and install the ATF lines to the ATF cooler and thermostat.
- Install the A/C condenser - 1 - and ATF cooler - 2 -.
- Install the clips - arrow -.
- Remove the plugs, install the ATF lines completely into the thermostat - 2 - and tighten the bolt - 1 -.
- Check the ATF level. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.
- Check the connections for the ATF lines for leaks while checking the ATF level.
- Install the lock carrier.
- Install the front bumper.
- Install the noise insulation under the engine. Refer to
