Wheel Bearing Housing Bushing






Wheel Bearing Housing Bushing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Press support (30 - 506 B)

Mounting universal joint (41-501)

Sleeve (3160)

Assembly tool (3301)

Support arm bearing inst. tool (3346)

Carrier bearing inst. tool (3350)

Torque wrench 40-200 Nm (VAG 1332)

Removing

- Remove the wheel.

- Remove the coil spring. Refer to --> [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.

- Remove the wheel hub and bearing. Refer to --> [ Wheel Bearing and Hub ] Wheel Bearing and Hub.

- Remove the cover plate.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - for the lower transverse link - 1 -.





- Install the special tools as shown in the illustration.

- Remove the bushing by turning the (3346).

Installing

- Install the special tools as shown in the illustration.

- Install the bushing by turning the (3346).

Do not use lubricant!

Insert the bushing with care so it is not tilted.

- Install the cover plate.

- Install the wheel hub and bearing.

- Bring the wheel bearing housing into curb weight position. refer to --> [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Wheel Bearing Housing, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

Only tighten the bolts if dimension "a" has been reached. Refer to --> [ between the wheel hub center and the lower edge of the wheel housing has been attained. ] Wheel Bearing Housing, Lifting to Curb Weight Position!

- Tighten the bolt - arrow - for the lower transverse link - 1 -.





- Install the coil spring. Refer to --> [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.

- Install the brake disc.

- Install the brake carrier with caliper.

- Install the wheel and tighten. Refer to --> [ Wheel Bolt Tightening Specification ] .
