Subframe Locating






Subframe Locating

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Locating pins (T10096)

Engine and transmission jack (VAG 1383A)

Installing Locating Pins (T10096)

In order to secure the subframe with brackets, the (T10096) must be installed in positions: - 1 -, - 8 -, - 9 - and - 18 - in succession.





The (T10096) may only be tightened to a maximum of 20 Nm, since otherwise the threads of the (T10096) will be damaged.

- Replace the bolts for the mounting bracket in succession on both sides using the (T10096) and tighten them to 20 Nm.

Securing the Mounting Bracket





- Replace the bolts for the brackets using the (T10096) in succession and tighten to 20 Nm.

Securing the Bracket





Position of the front axle is now secured.

Remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to --> [ Stabilizer Bar ] Stabilizer Bar.

Remove the steering gear, refer to one of the following:

Generation 2 steering gear, refer to --> [ Steering Gear, Generation 2 ] Steering Gear, Generation 2.

Generation 3 steering gear, refer to --> [ Steering Gear, Generation 3 ] Steering Gear, Generation 3.

Removing Locating Pins (T10096)

Removal is performed in the reverse order. Make sure that the (T10096) are replaced in succession using new bolts.
