Coupling between Charge Air Cooler and Connecting Hose

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions when working on the charge air system and turbocharger. Refer to --> [ Safety Precautions ] Safety Precautions.

Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to --> [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

Always follow these instructions before and during work.

Disassembling

- Press connector coupling on the connecting hose - arrow 1 - together.





The clip - 1 - can only be released completely by pressing the connector coupling together.

- Bring clip - arrow 2 - into the release position.

- Disconnect connector coupling without using tools.

Assembling

CAUTION!
Connector coupling sealing ring can be damaged if securing clamp is in locked position when installing. This would result in a leak. Follow assembly instructions.

- Clean the sealing surfaces in the connector coupling.

- When replacing the gasket, place it in the groove on the connecting hose. Ensure gasket is completely seated in groove all the way around.

- Lightly oil the sealing surfaces and the sealing ring.

- Bring clip - 1 - into the release position.





- Slide connecting hose into the clutch as far as the stop. Check the positioning tab - 2 -.

- Bring clip - 4 - into the locking position. The clip then engages in the securing groove - 3 -.

- Press connecting hose back again.

- Pull on connecting hose to make sure it is seated correctly and the connector coupling is engaged.
