SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SRS SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).
* Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
NOTICE:
Always use "TORX" socket wrench E10 when removing the front seat.

HINT
The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the driver and front passenger sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Initialization (from 07/2011).

HINT
The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the driver and front passenger sides, unless otherwise specified.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side)

5. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH Disassembly (from 07/2011)

6. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster) Disassembly (from 07/2011)

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH Disassembly (from 07/2011)

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD LH Disassembly (from 07/2011)

9. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD Disassembly (from 07/2011)

10. REMOVE SRS SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the clamps.

(b) Remove the 3 nuts and the SRS seat cushion airbag assembly.





CAUTION:
* The nuts must not be reused.
* Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
