SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback Driver Side): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).
* If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with a new one.
* Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
NOTICE:
Always use "TORX" socket wrench E10 when removing the front seat.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Initialization (from 07/2011).

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD Disassembly (from 07/2011)

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD Disassembly (from 07/2011)

8. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

(a) Disconnect the seatback cover band.
