Shift Cable: Adjustments
EB62 MANUAL TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: ADJUSTMENT
1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for PZEV) Removal
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (except PZEV) Removal
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
6. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL Removal
7. ADJUST TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE
(a) Remove the clip and disconnect the control select cable from the transaxle assembly.
(b) Pull back the boot of the control select cable.
(c) Release the lock of the cable length adjustment structure of the select cable.
(1) Slide the slider.
(2) Push the lock piece downward to release the lock.
(d) Align the hole of the outer select lever with the hole in the transaxle.
(e) Insert a bolt into the aligned holes to secure the select outer lever in place.
NOTICE:
* Use a bolt with a diameter of 5.794 to 5.974 mm (0.228 to 0.235 in.) and length of at least 16 mm (0.630 in.).
* Do not push in the bolt forcefully or damage the transaxle case.
(f) Install the control select cable to the transaxle assembly with the clip.
NOTICE:
Make sure that the lock piece is protruded from the adjuster case.
(g) Push the slider shaft until it contacts the cam wall.
NOTICE:
* Do not pull up the slider shaft.
* When adjusting the cable, make sure that the shift lever is not in the 1st or 2nd gear position.
(h) Lock the cable length adjustment structure of the select cable.
NOTICE:
* Push the lock piece as far as it will go.
* Confirm whether the cable length adjustment structure is locked securely.
(i) Refit the boot to the control select cable.
(j) Remove the bolt to free the select outer lever.

13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (except PZEV) Installation
