Removal

2AR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: THROTTLE BODY: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH

3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Testing and Inspection

6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for PZEV)

(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose and separate it from the air cleaner hose.





(b) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector and 2 hoses.





(c) Separate the hose from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.





(d) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and separate the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner cap.





(e) Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the hose.





(f) Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner hose.





(g) Remove the 2 bolts and the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.





8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (except PZEV)

(a) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and separate the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner cap.





(b) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector and 2 hoses.





(c) Separate the hose from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.





(d) Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the hose.





(e) Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner hose.





(f) Remove the 2 bolts and the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.





9. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the throttle body.





(b) Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body.

(c) Disconnect the fuel tube from the clamp.

(d) Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.

(e) Remove the 4 bolts and the throttle body with fuel tube bracket.





(f) Remove the bolt and fuel tube bracket.





(g) Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
