Rear Wheel Alignment
SUSPENSION: REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT: ADJUSTMENT
NOTICE:
If the wheel alignment has been adjusted, or if suspension or underbody components have been removed/installed or replaced, be sure to perform the following initialization procedure in order for the system to function normally:
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.
(b) Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
(c) Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and test mode inspection (for TMC Made).
1. INSPECT TIRES
Component Tests and General Diagnostics
2. MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT Front Wheel Alignment
3. INSPECT TOE-IN
(a) Bounce the vehicle up and down at the corners to stabilize the suspension. Inspect the toe-in.
Toe-in (Unloaded Vehicle):
If the toe-in is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts and replace them if necessary.
4. ADJUST TOE-IN
(a) Measure the lengths of the right and left rear No. 2 suspension arms.
Difference in the length between the right and left rear No. 2 suspension arms:
1.5 mm (0.06 in.) or less
If the left-right difference is larger than 1.5 mm (0.06 in.), adjust it by following the procedures below.
(b) Loosen the lock nuts.
(c) Turn the right and left adjusting tubes by an equal amount to adjust toe-in.
HINT
* Try to adjust toe-in to the center of the specified range.
* One turn of each adjusting tube will adjust toe-in by approximately 10.8 mm (0.425 in.).
(d) Tighten the lock nuts while securing the adjusting tube in the order indicated below:
Torque : 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft-lbf)
* Tighten the outside lock nut.
* Tighten the inside lock nut.
* Retighten the outside lock nut.
5. INSPECT CAMBER
(a) Install a camber-caster-kingpin gauge and set the vehicle on a wheel alignment tester.
(b) Inspect the camber.
Camber (Unloaded Vehicle):
HINT
Camber is not adjustable. If the measurement is not within the specification range, inspect the suspension parts for damage and/or wear, and replace them if necessary.
6. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (for TMC Made)
(a) Perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.
10. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (for TMC Made)
(a) Check the steering angle sensor zero point calibration C1290.
