Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair




High Mount Stop Light Removal and Installation

Removal

1) Remove trunk lid trim. Service and Repair
2) Remove rear spoiler (if equipped). Service and Repair
3) Disconnect high mount stop light connector.
4) Remove high mount stop light nuts (1), and remove high mount stop light holder (2) and high mount stop light (3).

NOTE:
Remove gasket remaining on trunk lid after removing high mount stop light.





Installation

Reverse removal procedure noting the following point.

NOTE:

If the gasket (1) of the high mount stop lamp is worn or damaged, water may seep into the vehicle body.

Replace the high mount stop lamp if its gasket is missing or damaged.






- Tighten high mount stop light nuts to specified torque.

Tightening torque
High mount stop light nut (a): 6.0 Nm (0.61 kgf-m, 4.5 lbf-ft)
