Removal





DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal

2. DRAIN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

4. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT Removal

5. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR Removal

6. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

7. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

8. SEPARATE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 nuts, and the drive shaft heat insulator.

10. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Using a screwdriver and hammer, remove the drive shaft.

NOTICE:
* Do not damage the oil seal.
* Do not damage the inboard joint boot.
* Do not drop the drive shaft.

11. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.

12. FIX FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY

HINT
The hub bearing could be damaged if it is subjected to the vehicle's full weight, such as when moving the vehicle with the drive shaft removed. If it is absolutely necessary to place the vehicle's full weight on the hub bearing, first support it with SST.
