1NR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

Removal

2. REMOVE THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY

Removal

3. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and the intake manifold stay.

4. REMOVE UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Loosen the hose clip and disconnect the union to connector tube hose from the upper intake manifold sub-assembly.

(b) Disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the water by-pass hose assembly from the upper intake manifold sub-assembly.

(d) Disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose from the upper intake manifold sub-assembly.

(e) Remove the bolt and separate the duty vacuum switching valve from the upper intake manifold sub-assembly.

(f) Loosen the hose clip and disconnect the ventilation hose from the upper intake manifold sub-assembly.

(g) Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts and upper intake manifold sub-assembly from the intake manifold.

NOTICE:
Do not allow any foreign objects to enter the intake manifold.

(h) Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket from the upper intake manifold sub-assembly.

5. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Loosen the hose clip and disconnect the water by-pass hose assembly from the EGR hole cover plate.

(b) Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold from the cylinder head.

(d) Using "TORX" socket wrench E8, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.

6. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the water by-pass hose assembly from the 2 hose clamps.

7. REMOVE HOSE CLAMP

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 hose clamps from the intake manifold.
