U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing the steering column Service Precautions.

1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE STEERING PAD

Removal

4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

Removal

5. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT Disassembly

7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Detach the 4 pins and disconnect the 2 shift paddle switches from the steering wheel assembly.

(c) Detach the 6 guides and remove the shift paddle switch with No. 1 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.





(d) Remove the 2 cable ties.

(e) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the 2 shift paddle switches from the No. 1 switch wire.
