U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: SHIFT LEVER: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the console box Removal.

2. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.





(c) Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

NOTICE:
Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

(d) Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 270° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

NOTICE:
Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.

3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 4 clamps from the shift lever.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever.
