SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Removal

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Detach the 3 hooks labeled A.

(c) Detach the 3 hooks labeled B and remove the instrument panel passenger airbag.

CAUTION:
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

(a) Pull the 2 lock plates to release the 2 connector locks.

(b) Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors from the instrument panel passenger airbag inflator.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(c) Pull the lock plate to release the connector lock.

(d) Disconnect the airbag connector from the instrument panel passenger airbag actuator and remove the instrument panel wire.
