INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT
All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabetical code in the table below.





2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH





(a) Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

(b) Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips, 3 claws and guide.

(c) Disconnect each connector and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

5. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Put protective tape around the center instrument cluster finish panel.

(b) Detach the 5 clips and guide.

(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel.

6. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Detach the 8 claws and remove the meter hood.

7. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH





(a) Detach the 4 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

9. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY





(a) Detach the 2 stoppers.

(b) Detach the 2 guides and remove the glove compartment door.

10. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER RH





(a) Detach the 5 claws and remove the lower instrument cover.

11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Remove part of the front door opening trim weatherstrip so that the front pillar garnish and upper instrument panel can be removed.

12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal

15. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the screw [A] and 2 bolts [B].

(b) Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts [C].

(c) Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamp.

(d) Detach the 4 clips, 3 claws and 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel.

16. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY





(a) Using a screwdriver, push the stopper of the glove compartment door lock cylinder as shown in the illustration and remove the glove compartment door lock cylinder in the direction of the arrow.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
