HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: REMOVAL
1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
4. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
* Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to disconnect the tube.
* Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
(b) Remove the 2 O-rings from the suction pipe sub-assembly.
5. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the air conditioning tube assembly.
NOTICE:
* Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to disconnect the air conditioning tube assembly.
* Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
(b) Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioning tube assembly.
6. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE
(a) Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts.
(b) Remove the cooler expansion valve.
7. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE
(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to detach the heater water inlet hose.
HINT
Collect the engine coolant in a container.
8. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE
(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to detach the water outlet hose.
HINT
Collect the engine coolant in a container.
(b) Remove the grommet.
9. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Installation
11. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
Removal
12. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
Removal
13. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
It is not necessary to fully remove the floor carpet. Partially remove it so that the rear air duct can be removed in a later step.
14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and nut.
(b) Detach the 4 clamps.
(c) Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.
15. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and nut.
(b) Detach the 2 clamps.
(c) Remove the No. 2 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.
16. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 3 air duct.
17. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 2 air duct.
18. REMOVE REAR NO. 5 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 5 air duct.
19. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 4 air duct.
20. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)
(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear No. 1 air duct.
21. REMOVE HEATER COVER
(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the heater cover.
22. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 air duct sub-assembly.
23. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 3 air duct sub-assembly.
24. REMOVE ECM
Installation
25. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
26. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY
Removal
27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY
(a) Detach the 2 clamps.
(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(c) Detach the 10 clamps and remove the 6 bolts.
(d) Remove the 11 bolts and instrument panel reinforcement assembly.
28. REMOVE DRAIN COOLER HOSE
(a) Remove the drain cooler hose.
29. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 nuts and No. 1 air duct sub-assembly.
30. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT
(a) Remove the bolt, nut and air conditioning unit.
