HINT
When DTC C1425 is output together with C1422, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by C1425 first C1425.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK STOP LIGHT OPERATION
(a) Check that the stop lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed and go off when the brake pedal is released.
OK:
NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM (PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE) Exterior Lighting System
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SW)
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Start the engine.
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
(f) Check that the stop light condition observed on the Techstream changes according to the brake pedal operation.
OK:
The Techstream displays ON or OFF according to the brake pedal operation.
NG -- CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL AND STOP LIGHT SWITCH INSTALLATION
(a) Check the brake pedal height and stop light switch installation Adjustments.
OK:
The brake pedal height and stop light switch installation are normal.
NG -- ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL OR STOP LIGHT SWITCH Adjustments
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Turn the ignition switch off.
(c) Start the engine.
(d) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more and perform a braking test (decelerate the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal).
(e) Check if the same DTC is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result
B -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION) How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
5. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP)
(a) Make sure that there is no looseness in the locking part and connecting part of the connectors.
(b) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
