Removal
BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: BRAKE ACTUATOR: REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE
Removal
3. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
4. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR
(a) Pull the lock lever upward and disconnect the connector.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.
5. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINES
(a) Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the actuator.
(b) Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.
HINT
* *1: to front wheel RH
* *2: to front wheel LH
* *3: to rear wheel RH
* *4: to rear wheel LH
* *5: from master cylinder
6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
(a) Detach the 2 clamps from the bracket.
NOTICE:
The clamps cannot be reused after they are detached from the bracket.
(b) Remove the 3 nuts and actuator with bracket.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
