Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement




Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement (Rear Floor Console Replacement).
2. Remove the park brake cable equalizer. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Equalizer Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Procedures)Parking Brake Cable Equalizer Replacement (Front Wheel Drive) (Procedures).




3. Remove the park brake cable end stopper (1) from the park brake front cable.




4. Remove the lock nut (1) and the adjusting nut (2).




5. Pull up the park brake lever claw (1).




6. Remove the front cable (1) from the park brake lever.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front cable (1) to the park brake lever.




2. Push down the park brake lever claw (1).




3. Install, but do not tighten, the adjusting nut (2).
4. Install, but do not tighten, the lock nut (1).




5. Install the park brake cable end stopper (1) to the front cable.
6. Install the park brake cable equalizer. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Equalizer Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Procedures)Parking Brake Cable Equalizer Replacement (Front Wheel Drive) (Procedures).
7. Adjust the park brake and tighten the nuts. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (All Wheel Drive and GT) (Adjustments)Parking Brake Adjustment (Except All Wheel Drive and GT) (Adjustments).
8. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement (Rear Floor Console Replacement).
