Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair




Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement

Removal Procedure





Note: To remove the power steering pump belt, do remove the accessory belt in advance.

1. Rotate the tensioner star-nut (1) and remove the accessory belt.
2. Remove the power steering belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.2L LMU Engine) (Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines))Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L L95 and 1.5L LV8 Engines) (Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines))Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines) (Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines)).




3. Remove the accessory belt tensioner (1).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the accessory belt tensioner (1) and tighten to 50 Nm (36.8 lb ft).




2. Install the power steering belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.2L LMU Engine) (Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines))Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L L95 and 1.5L LV8 Engines) (Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines))Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines) (Power Steering Pump Replacement (1.4L LDT and 1.6L LXV Engines)).
3. Rotate the tensioner star-nut (1) and install the accessory belt.
4. Install the engine front shield at the position of right front wheel.
