Headliner Replacement (with Sunroof)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the front passenger bucket seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
2. Remove the windshield pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
3. Remove the center pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar) .
4. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panels. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .
5. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead (Console Replacement - Overhead) .
7. Pull the door opening moldings down to clear headliner. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Opening (Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Opening) in Doors.
8. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
10. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connectors.

Notice: Refer to Bending Headliner Notice in Cautions and Notices.

11. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner.
12. With the add of an assistant, remove the headliner through the rear passenger door opening.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Bending Headliner Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. With the add of an assistant, load the headliner into the vehicle through the rear passenger door opening.
2. Raise the headliner into position.
3. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer toHigh Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
5. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
7. Install the center pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar) .
8. Connect the headliner wiring harness connectors.
9. Install the rear quarter upper trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .

Important: Ensure that the inside lip of the door opening weather-strip is properly seated to close out the headliner, sail panel and pillar garnish moldings.


10. Install the door opening weatherstrips in the door openings. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Opening (Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Opening) in Doors.
11. Install the overhead console. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead (Console Replacement - Overhead) .
12. Install the front passenger bucket seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
