24 00 031 - Removing and installing transmission (AISIN)
Note:
After completion of work, check transmission fluid level Service and Repair.
Important!
Use only the approved automatic transmission fluid in this automatic transmission.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the automatic transmission!
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Switch off ignition.
- Disconnect battery Instructions for Disconnecting and Connecting Battery.
- Remove engine 11 00 050 Removing and Installing Engine (COOPER S Automatic).
- Remove throttle.
Note:
Release extraction line from clips on fuel rail and remove hose from cover/test opening.
Disconnect coolant hoses (1/2) from oil cooler.
Disconnect coolant hoses (3/4) from coolant pipe.
Disconnect multiple connectors (1/2) of EGS control unit.
Remove wiring harness.
Pay attention to routing of wiring harness.
Disconnect plug (1) of oil pressure switch.
Release nuts (1) and remove bracket (2) with wiring harness.
Release screws (1).
Remove transmission support block (2) and bracket (3).
Tightening torque 22 32 1AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Release screws (1).
Remove transmission carrier (2).
Tightening torque 22 32 1AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Release bolts and remove transmission.
Bolt connection, converter:
Tightening torque 24 11 21AZ [1][2]Fluid Pan, A/T.
Important!
Transmission mounting bolts differ in length.
Note installation position.
Installing the wrong bolts may cause serious damage.
Observe screw fastening sequence without fail.
Tightening torque 24 11 4AZ [1][2]Fluid Pan, A/T.
Installation:
Check that dowel sleeves are correctly seated.
Replace damaged dowel sleeves.
