HV1 - Enter Output State Diagnostic Test Mode: Check CANP
- Key Off.
- Install a Scan Tool.
- Disconnect CANP solenoid.
- Disconnect electrical connector on the speed control servo, if equipped.
- Connect DVOM positive test lead to the VPWR circuit and negative test lead to the CANP circuit at the CANP solenoid vehicle harness connector.
- Key On, Engine Off.
- Turn on the Scan Tool outputs with the trigger button.
- Observe CANP voltage reading on the DVOM and record.
- Turn the outputs off with the Scan Tool trigger button.
- Observe CANP voltage reading on the DVOM and record.
- Cycle the Scan Tool trigger button On and Off several times.
- Does the CANP circuit cycle 0.5 volts or greater on the DVOM?
YES -- PCM capable of detecting CANP output signal change. LEAVE CANP solenoid disconnected. EXIT Output State DTM. Go to HV2. HV2 - Check Carbon Canister
NO -- Go to HV9. HV9 - DTC 0443: Check CANP Resistance
