LP1 - Turbo Boost Actuator Function

Turbocharger Boost Actuator:

^ Remove the exhaust manifold heat shields from the turbocharger area.

^ Disconnect the actuator hose at the solenoid end.

^ Connect a regulated air pressure source to the actuator hose with a Rotunda Vacuum/Pressure Tester 059-00008 or equivalent teed in.

^ Apply 58.9 kPa (8.5 psi) specified pressure to open the wastegate.

^ Does the wastegate open?

YES -- Go to LP2. LP2 - Turbo Wastegate Function

NO -- Replace the actuator, rod, and mounting plate as an assembly.
