Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch Regulating Valve
LOCATION
- In the slide housing of the electrohydraulic control unit.
TASK
- Hydraulic control of the torque converter lock-up clutch and distribution of lubricating oil.
FUNCTION
- The torque converter lock-up clutch regulating valve (27) controls the torque converter lock-up clutch operating pressure (p-torque converter lock-up) depending on the torque converter lock-up clutch control pressure (p-S/torque converter lock-up).
- Depending on the level of torque converter lock-up clutch operating pressure (p-torque converter lock-up), the torque converter lock-up clutch is
^ engaged
^ disengaged
^ in slip mode
- In the lower position of the regulating valve (27) the lubricating oil flows through the torque converter and oil cooler into the transmission (torque converter lock-up clutch Repressurized). in its control position (slip mode, pressure applied to torque converter lock-up clutch), a reduced quantity Of lubricating oil flows through the annular gap (27a), bypassing the converter, through the oil cooler directly into the transmission. The other part of the lubricating oil is led via the restrictor "a" into the torque converter to cool the torque converter lock-up clutch.
