Removal





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH Removal

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 1 clips and the 2 claws and remove the panel.





6. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts detach the claw and front passenger side knee airbag.





(b) Disconnect the connector.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
