Removal





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

Service Precautions

NOTICE:

w/ Navigation System for HDD:

After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal Service Precautions.

2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

6. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system Service Precautions.

8. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH

23. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER (for 4GR-FSE) Removal

24. SEPARATE SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt, and slide the hook connector.





(b) Disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

25. SEPARATE LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the liquid tube sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

26. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater water outlet hose.





27. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE

Use the same procedure for the heater water outlet hose.

(a) Release the 4 claws and remove the lower defroster nozzle assembly.





83. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU WITH BRACKET Removal

84. REMOVE CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER Removal

85. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY Removal

86. REMOVE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU Removal

87. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) WITH BRACKET (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch) Removal

88. REMOVE ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU) Removal

89. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage each clamp and disconnect each connector.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 earth wires.

(c) Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts and 2 junction blocks.





(d) Remove the cap and bolt.

(e) Remove the 3 bolts and nut.





(f) Remove the 6 caps.

(g) Remove the 2 bolts.

(h) Using a T40 "TORX" socket, remove the 4 "TORX" bolts.

NOTICE:
The "TORX" bolts on the passenger side can be removed with the collar for adjustment.

(i) Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 collars and instrument panel reinforcement.

90. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws, 3 bolts and air conditioning unit assembly.





(b) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to remove the heater water outlet hose.

(c) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to remove the heater water inlet hose.
