Removal

DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4GR-FSE): REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH Removal

2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER Removal

4. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE Removal

6. REMOVE REAR BODY SUPPORT BRACKET LH Removal

7. REMOVE REAR BODY SUPPORT BRACKET RH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 4 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.

10. REMOVE OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH

(a) Remove the 4 nuts and outside air guide plate RH.

11. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

(a) Put matchmarks on both flanges.

(b) Remove the 4 nuts, bolts and washers.

HINT
If the flange connection is hard to separate, temporarily tighten 1 nut only and evenly tap the flange with a brass bar and a hammer to separate the propeller shaft assembly from the differential companion flange.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 center support bearing washers.

(d) Separate the center support bearing.

(e) Remove the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

(f) Insert SST in the transmission to prevent oil leaks.

SST : 09325-40010

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the oil seal.

12. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

(a) Put matchmarks on both flanges.

(d) Separate the center support bearing.

(e) Remove the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

(f) Insert SST in the transmission to prevent oil leaks.
