Removal





PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE CABLE: REMOVAL

HINT
* The following procedure is for the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
* Use the same procedure for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly and No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

2. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the adjusting nut.





(b) Pull up the parking brake pedal claw.





(c) Remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





(d) Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake pedal assembly.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE PULL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the No. 1 parking brake pull rod sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

(b) Separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly to remove the No. 1 parking brake pull rod sub-assembly.

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and front No. 2 floor heat insulator.





7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER (w/ Floor Under Cover)

(a) for LH Side:

HINT
Perform the following procedure when removing the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

(1) Remove the nut, 2 bolts and clip.





(2) Disengage the clip and remove the rear floor side member cover LH.

(b) for RH Side:

HINT
Perform the following procedure when removing the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

(1) Remove the bolt and nut.





(2) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the rear floor side member cover RH.

8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR

(a) Remove the parking brake lever protector from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.





9. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the clamp to separate the No. 2 parking brake cable clamp.





(b) Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.





(c) Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

HINT
Insert an offset wrench (14 mm) at the base of the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip. Pull out the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

(d) Remove the 5 bolts and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.





10. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE CLAMP

(a) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the No. 2 parking brake cable clamp from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
