1UR-FSE ENGINE MECHANICAL: FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

4. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT Removal

6. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

(a) Using SST, loosen the crankshaft pulley set bolt.

(b) Using the pulley set bolt and SST, remove the crankshaft pulley.

7. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

(a) Remove the crankshaft timing gear key from the crankshaft.





8. REMOVE TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using a knife, cut through the oil seal lip.





(b) Using a screwdriver with its tip taped, pry out the oil seal.

NOTICE:
After the removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
