Removal





AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR (for 4WD): REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER Removal

4. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

(a) Start up the engine.

(b) Turn the A/C switch on.

(c) Operate the cooler compressor at an engine rpm of approximately 1,000 for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor as much as possible.

(d) Stop the engine.

(e) Using SST, let the refrigerant gas out.

5. REMOVE UNDER ENGINE COVER

6. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT Removal

7. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET

(a) Remove the bolt, nut, and oil filter bracket.





8. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector and 2 clamps, and separate the wire harness.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts, bolts, and oil filter bracket sub-assembly.





HINT
Place a container under the connection because engine oil will leak out when separating the oil filter bracket.

9. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE Removal

10. REMOVE DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts and nut.

(c) Using a "Torx" socket wrench (E8), remove the stud bolt and the compressor and magnetic clutch.
