STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (W/O VGRS): INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 26 Nm (260 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps to the steering column assembly.
2. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the clamp to the steering column hole shield.
(b) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and the steering main shaft.
(c) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT
(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and power steering link.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
4. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE WITH SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering sliding yoke sub-assembly.
(b) Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke sub-assembly and steering intermediate shaft assembly.
(c) Temporarily install bolt(B).
NOTE:
Do not tighten the bolt.
(d) Install bolt (A) and tighten bolt (B).
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
5. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
6. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Attach the claw to install the air duct.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(c) Attach the 2 claws and install the wiring harness protector.
7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
8. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY Installation
9. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
10. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING Installation
11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Installation
12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Installation
13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
14. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly with the clamp.
(b) Connect the connectors to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
15. INSTALL TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH
(a) Attach the claw to install the switch.
(b) Connect the switch connector.
16. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (W/O Driver Monitor Camera)
(a) Attach the claw to install the steering column cover upper.
(b) Attach the 4 clips to install the steering column cover upper onto the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
(c) Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column cover lower.
NOTE:
Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
(d) Install the 3 screws.
Torque: 2.0 Nm (20 kgf-cm, 18 in-lbf)
17. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (W/ Driver Monitor Camera)
(a) Connect the drive monitor camera.
(b) Attach the claw to install the steering column cover upper.
(c) Attach the 4 clips to install the steering column cover upper onto the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
(d) Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column cover lower.
NOTE:
Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
(e) Install the 3 screws.
Torque: 2.0 Nm (20 kgf-cm, 18 in-lbf)
18. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB- ASSEMBLY Testing and Inspection
19. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly.
(b) Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
20. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
21. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL PAD Installation
22. INSTALL STEERING PAD Installation
23. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER Installation
24. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE Installation
25. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE:
Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter Programming and Relearning.
26. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation
27. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
28. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
