Removal And Installation




COMPRESSOR

COMPRESSOR : Removal and Installation


REMOVAL

1.Use a refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC-134a) to discharge the refrigerant.
2.Remove air cleaner case (LH) and air duct (LH). Removal And Installation (VQ-37VHR
models) or Removal And Installation (VK-56VD models).
3.Remove engine under cover. Service and Repair.
4.Remove drive belt. Removal And Installation (VQ-37VHR models) or Removal And Installation (VK-56VD models).
5.Disconnect A/T fluid cooler hose A and B from A/T fluid cooler tube. Removal And Installation (2WD) or Removal And Installation (AWD).
(VK-56VD models)
6.Disconnect water hose from oil cooler . Removal And Installation. (VK-56VD models)
7.Remove mounting nuts of low-pressure flexible hose and high-pressure flexible hose. Exploded View.
8.Disconnect low-pressure flexible hose and high-pressure flexible hose from compressor. (VQ-37VHR
models)

CAUTION:
Cap or wrap the joint of the A/C piping and compressor with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.
9.Disconnect low-pressure pipe 2 and high-pressure flexible hose from compressor. (VK-56VD models)

CAUTION:
Cap or wrap the joint of the A/C piping and compressor with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.
10.Disconnect ECV connector and magnet clutch connector.
11.Remove mounting bolts from compressor.
12.Remove the compressor from lower side of the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

Note the following items, and install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- Replace O-rings with new ones. Then apply compressor oil to them when installing.
- Check for leakages when recharging refrigerant.
- Check tension of the drive belt after installing compressor. Procedures (VQ-37VHR
models) or (VK-56VD models).
