C1142 PRESS SENSOR





Description
The pressure sensor converts the brake fluid pressure to an electric signal and transmits it to the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). [The pressure sensor is integrated in the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).]

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis.
Is DTC "C1142" detected?
YES - Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to C1142.
NO - INSPECTION END




Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH CLEARANCE
Check stop lamp switch clearance. Refer to Procedures.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Adjust stop lamp switch clearance. Refer to Procedures.
2.CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH
Check stop lamp switch. Refer to C1116.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Repair or replace error-detected parts.
3.CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM
1. Check brake fluid leakage: refer to Inspection.
2. Check brake piping: refer to Front (front), Rear (rear).
3. Check brake pedal: refer to Procedures.
4. Check master cylinder: refer to Procedures.
5. Check brake booster: refer to Inspection.
6. Check front disc brake: refer to Inspection (1 piston type), Inspection (4 piston type).
7. Check rear disc brake: refer to Inspection (1 piston type), Inspection (2 piston type).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 4.
NO - Repair or replace error-detected parts.
4.PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to Exploded View.
NO - Check ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector. If any items are damaged, repair or replace error-detected parts.




Special Repair Requirement
1.ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION
Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) or steering angle sensor and removing steering angle sensor. Refer to Special Repair Requirement
