Diagnostic Overview

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. VERIFY THAT THE SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATES WITH THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
1. Connect the scan tool.
2. Check that a vehicle session can be established using the scan tool.
Can a vehicle session be established?
2. CHECK THE C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) self-test.
3. Clear the continuous DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.
4. Ignition OFF.
5. Wait at least 10 seconds.
6. Ignition ON.
7. Repeat the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 retrieved again?
3. CHECK FOR CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module) KOEO (Key ON Engine OFF) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) self-test.
Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?
4. CHECK THE C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE OUT-OF-RANGE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
1. Check for recorded C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from the self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:16 or DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:17 recorded?
5. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Ignition ON.
2. Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 set in multiple modules?
