Diagnostic Overview

The Rear Video Is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 131 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Image Display .

BCM (Body Control Module) DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK FOR DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) SELF-TEST

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, perform the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) present?

2. CHECK FOR DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B115E:08 present?

3. ENABLE AND VERIFY THE INOPERATIVE VIDEO CAMERA FEATURE

1. Enable and verify the inoperative video camera feature (fixed/active guidelines, manual zoom, visual park alert or video camera delay) within the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module).

Does the video camera feature operate correctly?

4. CHECK AND CLEAN THE REAR VIDEO CAMERA LENS

1. Clean and make sure the rear video camera lens is clear of any debris.

2. Test the video camera system and verify the video camera image.

Is the video camera concern still present?

5. CHECK THE REVERSING LAMPS OPERATION

1. Check the operation of the reversing lamps.

Do the reversing lamps operate correctly?

6. CHECK THE FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) DISPLAY

1. Place the transmission in reverse.

2. Observe the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) for 30 seconds.

Does the screen change to video camera mode and display" Please Contact Your Dealership"?

7. CHECK THE VIDEO SIGNAL CIRCUITS INTEGRITY

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module).

3. Measure:

Is the resistance between 74 and 106 ohms?

8. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Disconnect: Video Camera.

2. Ignition ON.

3. Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

9. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

10. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?

11. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO THE VIDEO SHIELD

1. Measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?

12. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

1. Ignition ON.

2. Measure:

Is any voltage present?

13. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO EACH OTHER

1. Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

14. CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN

1. Measure:

Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?

15. CHECK THE LIN (Local Interconnect Network) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Video Camera.

3. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.

4. Ignition ON.

5. Measure:

As any voltage present?

16. CHECK THE LIN (Local Interconnect Network) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

17. CHECK THE LIN (Local Interconnect Network) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Measure:

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

18. CHECK FOR CORRECT VIDEO CAMERA OPERATION

1. Disconnect the video camera connector.

2. Check for:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the video camera connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.

4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
