Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) .
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. OBSERVE THE FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) SCREEN
1. Turn the infotainment system on and observe the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) Screen
Is the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) screen completely inoperative or blank?
2. VERIFY THE APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) PASSES THE NETWORK TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the network test.
Did the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) pass the network test?
3. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0162:00 SET IN THE APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module)
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0162:00 present?
4. VERIFY THE TOUCHSCREEN RESPONDS TO TOUCH COMMANDS
1. While pressing each tab of the 4 corners on the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module), observe the touchscreen operation.
Does the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) respond correctly when each tab is pressed?
5. VERIFY THE TOUCHSCREEN IS CALIBRATED
1. Enter the ACM (Audio Control Module) self-diagnostic mode. REFER to Audio Control Module (ACM) Self-Diagnostic Mode .
2. Press and hold the SEEK DOWN button to enter Touch Screen Calibration and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Once the touchscreen calibration is complete, verify the touchscreen operation.
Does the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) respond correctly?
6. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B108E:01 SET IN THE APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module)
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B108E:01 present?
7. RESET THE APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) AND RECHECK THE SYSTEM OPERATION
1. Carry out an APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) power reset by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, then reconnect it.
2. Turn the infotainment system on.
3. While pressing each tab of the 4 corners on the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module), observe the touchscreen operation.
Does the touchscreen operate correctly?
8. CHECK FOR CORRECT APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) connector.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
