Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement (with V4U)




Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement (with V4U)

Removal Procedure

Note: The factory installed evaporator hose is equipped with auxiliary ports that are capped off for outfitter special equipment.

1. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement

2. Remove the right front compartment side sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Replacement.

3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.

4. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair.

5. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement.

6. Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a).

7. Remove the front bumper fascia air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement - Center Service and Repair.

8. Remove the right engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side.




9. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at condenser.

10. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from condenser.

11. Remove and discard the sealing washer (3).




12. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose nut (1) at air conditioning evaporator hose assembly. 13. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose (2) from air conditioning evaporator hose assembly.

14. Remove and discard the sealing washer (3).




15. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose retaining fastener (1) from the front suspension strut housing.

16. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from the front suspension strut housing.

17. Reposition the power brake booster vacuum pipe out of the way. Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement Service and Repair.

18. Reposition the fuel feed front pipe out of the way. Refer to Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement.

19. Reposition the electrical harness out of the way.




20. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at thermal expansion valve.

21. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from thermal expansion valve.

22. Remove and discard the sealing washers (3).

23. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose from the retainers.




24. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (1) from vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install NEW sealing washers (3) to the air conditioning compressor hose (2) to the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement.

2. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the vehicle.

3. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose (2) to the retainers.

4. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the thermal expansion valve.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

5. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at thermal expansion valve and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

6. Reposition the electrical harness.

7. Reposition the power brake booster vacuum pipe. Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement Service and Repair.

8. Reposition the fuel feed front pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement.




9. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the front suspension strut housing.

10. Install the air conditioning compressor hose retaining fasteners (1) to the front suspension strut housing and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).




11. Install the air conditioning compressor hose (2) to the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly. 12. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the condenser.

13. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) to the condenser and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

14. Install the right engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side.

15. Install the front bumper fascia air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement - Center Service and Repair.

16. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement.

17. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair.

18. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.

19. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a).

20. Install the right front compartment side sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Replacement.

21. Install the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement
