Fuel Pump Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Loosen the charge air cooler inlet pipe - turbocharger. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Turbocharger) Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Turbocharger)Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Charge Air Cooler) Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Charge Air Cooler).

2. Loosen the fuel feed pipe from the fuel pump. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine.




3. Remove the fuel pump cover nut (1) and the 2 fuel pump cover bolts (2).

4. Unclip the wiring harness from the fuel pump cover (3).

5. Remove the fuel pump cover (3).




6. Remove the fuel pump insulator (1).

7. Remove the fuel feed intermediate pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement.




8. Remove 2 the fuel pump bolts (4).

9. Remove the fuel pump (3) with the seal ring (2) and the gasket (1).




10. Remove the valve lifter follower (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the valve lifter follower (1) with NEW engine oil.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the fuel pump (3) along with the NEW seal ring (2) and the NEW gasket (1).

3. Install the 2 fuel pump bolts (4) and tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

4. Install the fuel feed intermediate pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement.




5. Install the fuel pump insulator (1).




6. Install the fuel pump cover nut (1) and the 2 fuel pump cover bolts (2) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

7. Clip in the wiring harness to the fuel pump cover.

8. Install the fuel feed pipe to the fuel pump. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine.

9. Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe - turbocharger. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Turbocharger) Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Turbocharger)Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Charge Air Cooler) Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Charge Air Cooler).
