51 43 025 - Removing and installing/replacing cover for frame aperture on left or right





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove side trim panel upper section at rear Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Left or Right Upper Side Trim Section

Note:
Cover for frame aperture: treat guide with protecting spray.





Release screws (1) and remove cover (2) for frame aperture.

Installation:
If necessary, replace faulty clips (4) on upper section of side trim panel (3).





Replacement:
- Slide out frame aperature flap (2) in direction of arrow, forcing the guides (3) apart slightly in the process.
- Disconnect spring (4).





Treating guide (2) of cover for frame aperture with protecting spray:
- Press frame outlet flap (1) towards rear.
- Clean contact surfaces (2) to remove all traces of dirt.
- Treat contact surfaces (2) (left/right) with BMW Universal protecting spray.
- Move frame outlet flap (1) several times (carry out function check).
- If necessary, clean trim panel parts to remove all traces of spray dust.
